This beautiful image is often toted as a “North Pole Sunset.” Unfortunately, according to this Snopes article, it’s a fake image created with Terragen. :(

Incidentally, if you’ve never used Terragen, you should definitely get it here. It’s free and it’s totally a blast to play with. I remember it always being fun creating my own worlds and taking digital photos of them (or just flying around). So magical! Maybe I’ll make some terragen images and put them up here.

I have some synesthetic tendencies. The most common form of synesthesia is when you associate letters with colors (for example, somebody might ALWAYS see A as purple, and if they see it in any other color they’ll feel like something is wrong).

I associate lots of different things, including numbers with personalities and locations (8 is 7’s therapist and 56 is 8’s office, 7 and 6 are both female and they’re best friends and they do lunch at 42 all the time; I’m not kidding, that’s how I learned my multiplication tables in elementary school).

I associate languages with colors. I see French as yellow, Spanish as red, Japanese as purple, English as white, and German as green, among others.

Does anybody else experience synesthetic tendencies?
